Before understanding the Islamic perspective on the role of women in society, we must first recognize two fundamental principles.
- Every Muslim believes that Allah (SWT) is our sole Creator and Owner. He loves us more than we love ourselves and possesses infinite wisdom. Therefore, every command of Allah (SWT) carries benefit for us, and a true Muslim cannot object to any of His commandments.
2.The second logical rule is that different shapes and designs of things indicate their different purposes. Even when a human being creates something, he first determines its purpose and then designs it accordingly. We see countless examples of this in our daily lives—in our homes, clothing, tools, and many other things.
In the same way, Allah (SWT) created men and women with physical, psychological, and emotional differences. Logically, this means that both have been assigned different purposes. Every rational person can understand this much. The next question that arises is: what are these purposes?
For a Muslim, the answer is clear—he turns to Allah (SWT) to know these purposes and accepts His guidance without hesitation. For someone who does not believe in Allah, he relies only on his own thinking, which results in countless ideologies and conflicting views.
In this article, we will not discuss those ideologies. Instead, we will focus only on the guidance given by Islam through the Qur’an and Sunnah.
